Kim Cameron, Univ. of Michigan, Receives Distinguished Speaker Award from CVDL Founder

Jim Ludema, director and co-founder of the Center for Values-Driven Leadership (CVDL) presented Kim Cameron, Ph.D., of the University of Michigan with the Distinguished Speaker Award at the recent Academy of Management meetings in San Antonio, Texas. 

Presented by the Academy's Organization Development and Change Division, which is chaired by Dr. Ludema, the award is presented to a person who has made and continues to make a significant contribution to the field of organizational development and change. 


"I can think of no person more deserving of this award than Kim Cameron," said Dr. Ludema at the award presentation. "He is an extraordinarily humble man. He consistently deflects praise away from himself and onto others, he lets his contributions speak for themselves, and he has built a career on doing all he can to help others grow and succeed."

Kim is the William Russell Kelly Professor of Management and Organization at the Ross School of Business, and Professor of Higher Education int he School of Education at the University of Michigan. His past research on organizational effectiveness, downsizing, culture, and the development of leadership competencies has been published in more than 120 academic articles and 14 scholarly books. His current research focuses on the virtuousness of and in organizations and its relationship to organizational performance. He is one of the co-founders of the Center for Positive Organizational Scholarship at the University of Michigan, and helps organizations throughout the United States, Europe, Asia, South America, and Africa develop positive organizational cultures.
